A basement is very vulnerable to moisture because a big portion of it is under the grade. There’s very little room for moisture to escape or for the foundation walls to dry. A wet basement can create a heavy and unhealthy environment and that wouldn’t allow you to use this room productively. Unfortunately, the Indiana weather doesn’t help and many basements are flooded by the time the snow melts or when the summer showers fall.At Mike Langley Excavating, we encourage our clients to get foundation waterproofing done. Now, they don’t have to worry about soaked carpets, mold, and flooding.
We provide custom waterproofing solutions to suit your needs. Here at Mike Langley Excavating, we are now using a new waterproofing material called Rubber Wall Plus. It is a 100% rubber polymer spray on product that offers commercial grade waterproofing. It also contains UV protectant!
What’s Involved In Our Basement Waterproofing Services?
It’s very important to tailor the waterproofing solution to the particular problems you face. One size doesn’t fit all; and sometimes a basement waterproofing contractor might fix one issue without addressing the entire problem. You might get water problems despite the repairs. We work differently; there are several causes of flooding and wet basements and we take care to thoroughly investigate of all them. Our solutions include:- Exterior Excavation Waterproofing – This is one of the most comprehensive waterproofing solutions available. We dig a trench to the bottom of the footer around the foundation wall. This solution consists of a number of treatments. We will install new French drain and apply waterproofing membranes and other such materials on top of the foundation wall. While this solution is expensive, it will completely stop water from penetrating the wall. It’s a very effective, low-maintenance, and long-term solution.
- Waterproofing Paints And Primers – Some basement contractors immediately offer this as a quick fix to wet basement problems, but that’s not the case. We apply these products only after other, intensive waterproofing solutions are applied. This is usually only a cosmetic solution.
